The birth of the brand Parajumpers
Parajumpers is an innovative project that was born with the idea of Ape & Partners in collaboration with Massimo Rossetti, two of the leading names in the field of international design. Everything comes in a bar in Anchorage, Alaska, when Massimo Rossetti met a member belonging to the 210th Rescue Squadron. It is one of the main corps specialized in recovery interventions extreme, ready to act in every part of the world and at any time: they are called PJs – acronym that means Parajumpers and their members possess one of the best training in the world and use the skills acquired to save lives seriously threatened. All Parajumpers products must reflect this philosophy and be easily adaptable to any place, climate and condition; are primarily implemented in Nylon, one of the most resistant materials, equipped with a waterproof lining that can be easily removed and a hood with an adjacent warm fur trim. On the part corresponding to the neck is located a hook closure identical to those used in skydiving, while on the front side is inserted a pocket that contains three other, ensuring a perfect and safe closing, in which it is possible to store in all tranquility their belongings.
Parajumpers and organization Heidelberg Project
Heidelberg Project is a nonprofit organization founded in the streets of Detroit, which is committed to promoting art as a solution to recover the city. The idea comes from Tyree Guyton which brings together some artists that begin to create works with waste materials found in the ruins of old abandoned buildings, creating a real open-air museum in the middle of the city. Parajumpers years supports this project and created a collection of photographs acclimatized just inside the Heidelberg Street, where the project came to life.
